The PICMG® 1.3 SHB supports the system's future PCI Express™ and current PCI/PCI-X option cards while featuring two Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® Processors (5300 series) to deliver the computing horsepower necessary to help turn the speed and content flexibility promises of IPTV into reality.

Trenton Systems has provided a 2U platform solution to one of the major innovators in IPTV. This solution delivers standard definition video at 750kbps and high definition video at 3Mbps - that enables service providers fast and affordable access to the lucrative triple-play market. The secret is the state-of-the-art PSI_V™ Video Codec, which achieves remarkably low bit rates while maintaining exceptional image quality.

THE FINEST INGREDIENTS

Other key chassis components include a PICMG 1.3, 2U butterfly form factor backplane to support the plug-in IPTV video & network option cards. Robust chassis sub-components like power supplies, hard drives and system interconnects were chosen to provide the Trenton Systems customer with rugged 2U computer systems that the customer merges with their IPTV product solution. The net result is that the Trenton Systems customer delivers an IPTV system to their telco service providers that enables the providers to deliver superior service in the growing IPTV triple-play market.
