  • The TRC4009 Rugged Military Computer

    The TRC4009 rugged military computer’s designed-to-meet chassis allows a high-degree of computing capability to be placed in the tight spaces typically found in military applications on board submarines, surface ships and airborne command centers, as well as in server rooms. The shallow-depth of the TRC4009 rugged military computer allows a high-degree of computing capability when configured with a single or dual- single board computer and 14-slot PCI Express backplane, or alternatively, with a MicroATX or ExtendedATX embedded motherboard.

    A 14-slot backplane option for the TRC4009 rugged military computer is the Trenton BPG7087 with four, x16 PCI Express electrical interfaces to the card slots and six PCIe x16 mechanical card slots connected with x4 electrical links. The TRC4009 supports a dual or single-processor BXT7059, JXT6966 or TSB7053 single board computer and features front access /hot swap storage drives in a shallow depth enclosure.     The shallow-depth dimension of the Trenton TRC4009 rackmount computer allows a high-degree of computing capability to be placed in the tight spaces typically found in submarines, surface ships, airborne command centers and crowded server rooms.  The TRC4009 4U rackmount computer supports a variety of single board computers, 14-slot backplanes, MicroATX and ExtendedATX embedded motherboard options.  An example of a 14-slot backplane option for the TRC4009 is the Trenton BPG7087 with its four, x16 PCI Express 2.0 electrical interfaces to the card slots plus six other PCIe x16 mechanical card slots connected with x4 electrical links.

    SYSTEM FAN CONTROL

    Trenton’s FSC1400 simultaneously controls and monitors tach pulses from up to four system fans.  The controller also accepts fan speed commands (including on/off) and provides individual pass/fail fan status via an I2C interface to the computer’s PICMG 1.3 system host board.  Fan speed can also be based on temperature via the provided thermal sensor.

    Select motherboard options for the TRC4009 may have system fan control capability built onto the motherboard.  These motherboards may not require the Trenton FSC1400.
