Hometown Team Provides Processing Power to AV Solutions Partner Daktronics

The new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Downtown Atlanta, Georgia is nearing completion and Trenton Systems is proud to announce our partnership with Daktronics of Brookings, South Dakota, a premiere designer, manufacturer and integrator of complete audio-visual solutions, to help drive their deployment of 83,500 square feet of unique video displays throughout the structure that include many first-of-their-kind engineering innovations.

Halo Display World's Largest

Foremost among these is the incredible 61,900 square foot Halo Board Display.   The display, the largest LED video display in all of sports, will provide 360-degree views above the field as part of the retractable roof structure—and is large enough to fly a helicopter through at 58 feet high by 1,075 feet in circumference—the length of three football fields end to end.  In total, Daktronics designed and manufactured more than 62,000,000 LEDs for Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 16 independent display systems.  All the displays provide modern LED video capabilities including full HD video, instant replays, animations, statistics, sponsor messages and other game information. Variable content zones are configurable to display any combination of this content on multiple displays.

Trenton, a local Atlanta-based business worked with Daktronics to configure and integrate customized long-life, high performance, revision-controlled 5U rackmount computers containing the latest Intel® Xeon® E3-1200 v6 series processors and 18 PCIe slots to allow Daktronics to confidently deploy the compute power necessary to enable flexible and immersive high-definition visual experiences throughout the new stadium.

"Right in Our Backyard"

It's exciting to be able to partner with such a well-known signage industry leader like Daktronics on a large-scale project such as Mercedes-Benz Stadium, especially one that’s right in our backyard,” said Michael Bowling, President of Trenton Systems.  “We’re honored that Daktronics recognized our value proposition in providing flexible and scalable solutions that allow their engineers to focus on designing and integrating their products and delivering on their applications, without the worry of designing the underlying computing fabric. ” Mercedes Benz stadium will hold its first public sporting event Saturday, August 26th when the Atlanta Falcons take on the Arizona Cardinals in preseason NFL Football.
